OUCH
I have one fitted, I don't know what it came from though. Must have been a car I broke for spares at some stage
No problems with it but I reckon it's a good mod, ideal to be able to turn the fan off when in deep water it saves all the electrics being sprayed more than necessary _________________ Suzuki now gone, replaced by Pajero's |

I presume a PUSH type fan in front of the rad is best?
Jo0Lz
P.S. MUST do this mod myself so the 970 warms up quicker so I need choke for less time . . . . . |

Think I have a SUCK type fan from an FIAT X19 somewhere......
So will fit that...
Will even try using the FIAT thermo switch...
I'll let YawlL know how it goes

Don't forget to also fit a cut out switch to it as well, handy to be able to turn it off when deep wading _________________ Suzuki now gone, replaced by Pajero's |

I have to disagree with you on that one i'm afraid, a lot of electric fans are more sophisticated than that and the blades are actually aerodynamically shaped to operate in one direction, much the same as propeller blades are shaped _________________ Suzuki now gone, replaced by Pajero's |

The mans got a point.
You could end up with a fan spinning with little to no air movement. |

There's no need for kenlow fans standard ones do just fine but to have them running properly the blades have to run in the correct direction _________________ Suzuki now gone, replaced by Pajero's |

I am fitting a new big rad in the boot with twin fans. Saves the rad getting soaked in mud, could cause alsorts of problems. _________________ Lifes for living not dreaming! |

I have an electric fan on mine. I fitted it about 12+ years ago. It sits in front of the rad so it blows. I have used fans from Fords before this one. I think it is a Pacer. Before that I had the Pacer between the engine and the rad. Controlled by a Kenlowe sensor switch and the sensor bulb simply rests on the rad - works a treat. It has an override control too. This fan has worked tirelessly for thousands of miles and only once stuck on. I now have a viscous fan too - don't ask me why cos I don't know. I saw it on ebay in the US and wanted to try it. |

chappers are you going to use your sj off road if so "incase you didnt know" for it to pass the msa scruitenering there has to be a metal wall between you and the rad and if you run the pipes through the cab they need to be steel. i done my fatherinlaws and i ran steel pipe underneath from front to back and a single kenlow fan. it works really well |
